Before I answered this question, I went and did a little research on what experts says about birth order.
Birth order is defined as a person's rank by the sequence of birth among his or her siblings. Birth order is commonly believed to have a profound and lasting effect on psychological development. Although this assertion has been repeatedly challenged by researchers, birth order continues to have a strong presence in pop psychology and popular culture.
Before I tell you my birth order, I took a few quizzes that I could find, they asked simple questions, after responding to 3 different quizzes and being told that I am most likely a first born, I have to laugh because, I am not a first born. I am a xxxxxx child, and on top of that an only girl. But I guess if you look at the birth order of me as a cousin or grandchild then yes I am a first born granddaughter and neice. I am the oldest girl in the family. How do I feel about it, well as I told my friend the other day when this question came up. I enjoyed being the only girl because I got alot of attention because of it. I was a daddy's girl. In case you haven't figured it out yet.,,, I AM AN MIDDLE CHILD> I don't like being a middle child in the sense of I have two brothers and when I was younger if my older brother got good grades I was expected to do the same. My younger brother has some learning disablities so he didnt have to get good grades he just had to do the best he could. Even though I was the middle child, It was expected of me to still be the responsible one. I was the first one to get a job as a teenager. While my brothers were not encouraged to do so. If I wanted spending money I had to earn it. I hated that my brothers didn't get along so I always had to sit between them so they would leave each other alone. Never got to sit by a window in the car.... Now that I am a mother of an ONLY child, I kind of wished that I was one of them. She pretty much has had an easy life and all the attention from her grandmother, and uncles and my aunts and uncles. Of course that is just from my side of the family, on her father's side she is the youngest grandchild and cousin. So she still gets the attention. Now I wonder what affect it has on a marriage when a middle child (me) marries and youngest child (him). If any ?????????????? Something to think about. My ex-husband is an youngest child in a family with 3 children also.
